Mary Robertson is an experienced and accredited piano teacher offering piano, theory and musicianship lessons for children, teenagers and adults from her home studio in Katoomba.
With more than 35 years of teaching experience, Mary provides personalised piano tuition for beginners through to advanced students, including preparation for AMEB Piano, Theory and Musicianship examinations.

Mary Robertson was born and raised in Katoomba and has been teaching piano locally since 1989.
Her first piano teacher was Jose Radeski. She later studied music at Sydney University and continued her studies at Covenant College in the United States, where she studied piano with David Halvorsen and completed a Bachelor of Arts degree majoring in Music.
Mary also studied piano at the Brisbane Conservatorium under Kevin Power and obtained her A.Mus.A. Diploma.
She received her accreditation as a piano teacher through the Sydney Conservatorium of Music and is a proud member of the Music Teachers' Association (MTA).
With decades of teaching experience, Mary has helped students of all ages develop confidence, technical skill and a lifelong appreciation of music.

Students generally begin with a 30-minute lesson each week.
As students progress, lessons may extend to 45 minutes or one hour, particularly when music theory is included.
Lessons are available for students aged five years and older, including adult beginners and returning learners.
Students learn a balanced repertoire that may include:
Classical piano music
Popular music
Traditional favourites
Student-selected pieces
Individual preferences are always taken into consideration.
Beginners usually start with a carefully selected piano course suited to their age and experience level.
Lessons also include music theory and are supplemented with a variety of well-known songs and repertoire.
Students who are interested may prepare for:
AMEB Piano Examinations
AMEB Theory Examinations
AMEB Musicianship Examinations
Examinations are encouraged but are never compulsory.

Fees are generally paid in advance by term or half-term. Terms are typically ten weeks in length and follow the NSW public school calendar.
Please note that lessons are not conducted during public holidays or school holiday periods.
Lessons are conducted from Mary's private piano studio in Katoomba.
